52-Week Range

A stock's 52-week range is simply its highest and lowest closing price over the trailing twelve months, a quick way to see how far a stock has swung and where today's price sits within that history. Traders use it as a rough gut-check: a stock trading near its 52-week high suggests strong recent momentum, while one near its low suggests the opposite, or a genuine bargain, depending on why it got there. It resets continuously, so the range quietly shifts every single trading day as the oldest day drops off the back end.
